Hospitality industry veteran Jerry Evans recently joined\r\nHotel Arista as its general manager. The Aurora resident came to the Forbes\r\nFour-Star hotel with more than 20 years of \r\nChicago-area hotel management experience, mostly in DuPage.County. We\r\nasked him a few questions:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat first attracted you to the\r\nhospitality business?\r\n\r\nThe beauty and atmosphere of top-tier hotels,\r\npersonalized guest service and a global industry to travel or work around the\r\nworld are some reasons I choose the hospitality industry. \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nYou’ve worked mostly in DuPage but\r\nalso around Chicagoland. What differences do you see among these sub-markets?\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nMy experiences differ from O’Hare to Downtown Chicago\r\nto suburbs by the guests and service expectations. Downtown Chicago has more national and\r\ninternational guests with enhanced concierge service expectations on area\r\nattractions, dining, etc. The O’Hare\r\nmarket is similar to Downtown yet with shorter guest stay experiences i.e. a day trip or one night only due\r\nto the conveniences to fly and out quickly. The suburban market has more group\r\nopportunities with a wide variety of sports teams, corporate businesses,\r\nassociation companies, etc. ranging from\r\nlarge or small with the one big component of rates and pricing is less than\r\nO’Hare and Chicago. \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat are you most looking forward to\r\nin your new role?\r\n\r\nI look forward to contributing to the already\r\nsuccessful team here at Hotel Arista from top tier guest service, business\r\npartnerships and community presence to further separate us from our market\r\ncompetitors. Future opportunities coming\r\nto the Calamos Campus has positioned the hotel as an attraction piece and focal\r\npoint. Our customers will continue to\r\nreceive a 4-Star/4-Diamond service experience with more dining options. The\r\nMulti-Event Center is exciting news for all!
