Hotel Arista has again been awarded Green Seal® Silver certification under the organization’s rigorous Sustainability Leadership Standard for Hotels & Lodging Properties (GS-33).
Built in 2008, Hotel Arista was LEED certified in 2009 and first received Green Seal Silver certification in 2010, upon completion of its review by the independent non-profit organization.
“Being an environmental leader is part of the fiber of Hotel Arista,” said Chief Operations Officer Mae Calamos of Calamos Property Holdings which owns the hotel. “Environmental consciousness was part of the vision for the hotel at its onset, and we proudly and continuously fulfill this vision in our 10th anniversary year.”
Green Seal’s thorough review and on-site audit have verified:
· Hotel Arista protects human and environmental health, conserves water and energy and reduces waste while delivering the performance guests expect.
· It uses non-toxic, biodegradable housekeeping products and non-toxic paints with minimal VOCs.
· It has an environmental mission and purchasing policy, and uses energy-efficient appliances, lighting, fixtures and water-efficient landscaping measures.
· The hotel has a recycling and composting program and minimizes the use of disposable items.
