Top-rated non-profit Operation Support Our Troops - America is partnering with Over the Edge to host a rappelling fundraiser at Hotel Arista, Naperville's tallest building, Saturday, Sept. 14. Early-bird registration is open now through May 31, with registration fees increasing June 1 and again Aug. 1.
"Over the Edge is an exciting and innovative way to come together as a community, bring awareness of our mission and raise funds to continue to support those who sacrifice so much of our freedom," said OSOT-America Executive Director Bill Rickert.
Participants are required to raise a minimum of $1,000 to take part in the rappelling activity at the "Courage" level. Additional fundraising minimums are $1,500 for the "Patriot" level, $2,200 for the "Veteran" level and $3,000 or more for the "Freedom" level. As of May 17, there are 10 active fundraisers building their banks for participation. OSOT-America's overall fundraising goal from this event is $200,000. The September event also will offer food, live music and interactive displays.
OSOT-America is a volunteer-based organization with a mission to support the morale and well-being of American Forces by providing comfort, resources and education to all involved both while deployed an upon their return.
Over the Edge provides fundraising support for various non-profits, many that support America's armed forces. Its mission is raising millions for non-profit partners around the globe and shaping how organizations and people think about themselves and the community they engage in.
