Che Figata, the authentic Italian restaurant whose name is Italian for it's awesome, achieved its fourth Wine Spectator Award of Excellence this year.
The restaurant at 2155 CityGate Lane at CityGate Centre in Naperville received its first Wine Spectator Award in 2019, less than a year after opening. It did not submit an application for the magazine's 2020 or 2021 reviews as the industry - and the world - recovered from the effects of the global pandemic. However, it subsequently received the Award of Excellence three years in a row: 2022, 2023 and 2024.
According to its website, Wine Spectator's Restaurant Awards recognize restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers. Award of Excellence recipients offer wine lists with a minimum of 90 selections from a variety of quality producers and with a thematic match to the menu. Che Figata's 100+ selections all are authentic Italian wines, aligning with the recipes and imported ingredients used in its food.
In addition to serving this breadth of wines in the restaurant, packaged wine can be purchased from Che Figata's Market.
