Plank training event @ Hotel Arista features world record-holder, record-breaking attempt

Naperville resident and double-world record-holder, i.e., two records earned in a single year, George Hood will co-host the International Plank Training Conference beginning at Hotel Arista at CITYGATE, 9 a.m. Saturday, May 18, with elite athlete "Awesome" Angie Engstrom.

The event is the first of its kind in Naperville, and will feature several competitive events including an Official World Record attempt by Dana Glowacka of Montreal. Glowaka will be attempting to break the current 3-hour, 31-minute GWR for the longest static abdominal plank by a female.

"I've trained alongside Dana for nearly 4 years and have witnessesd her athleticism, dedication and commitment to training," said Hood.

Montreal's Dana Glowacka will pursue an Official World Record attempt for the longest static abdominal plank by a female at Hotel Arista May 18.

Glowacka's attempt has been sanctioned by both the Guinness World Records and Assist World Records. In 2016 she won the women's division at China's 2nd Internationa World Cup Plank Challenge.

The Naperville Conference also will feature a first-ever 1-hour plank challenge, with cash prizes awarded. Registration is open at www.planktrainingconference.com, and on-site registration will be held from 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. on the 18th.

A keynote address by Hood, "Mindset Matters," is scheduled for 12:45 p.m.
