CityGate Centre restaurants receive Diners' Choice Awards

Two CityGate Centre restaurants, Che Figata at Hotel Arista and CityGate Grille in the Calamos Investments Building, were named to the OpenTable Diners' Choice list. The list celebrates top-rated restaurants based on feedback from diners who booked reservations through the platform.


Che Figata, known for its traditional contemporary Italian dishes and its monthly Table Italiano wine dinners, was named to west suburbs best for romance, business meals and foodies, and for its notable wine list.


CityGate Grille, a popular, USDA Prime steak & seafood restaurant that features live music on weekends, was selected by diners as a west suburban hot spot and among the best for business meals.

Eggplant Parmesan Caramelle
Eggplant Parmesan Caramelle is Che Figata’s contemporary take on an Italian classic. House-made Caramelle pasta is filled with eggplant, shallots, plum tomatoes, garlic and white wine, blanched, then pan seared for texture and served on a bed of house-made Pomodoro sauce with roasted red pepper, onion, garlic and burrata, and pan-seared eggplant, topped with house-made garlic-thyme breadcrumbs and basil microgreens.

Part of CityGate Grille’s new Classic Cocktails Menu, the Aviation first made its print debut in 1917 by Hugo Ensslin,at the Hotel Wallick in New York City. the Aviation cocktail was basically grounded because crème de violette disappeared stateside, but after 40 years of being unavailable on the market it was resurrected. Since its comeback some American distillers are producing their own version of violette liqueurs such as The Bitter Truth’s Crème de Violette.
