Two July events will let wine lovers taste for themselves!
Wine Spectator magazine released its 2019 Restaurant Awards honoring Che Figata with its Award of Excellence. The Awards recognize restaurants with wine lists that offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers. Che Figata is the only area restaurant specializing in Italian wines to receive the award this year.
“This is very exciting for us,” said General Manager John D’Alexander, a Court of Master-certified sommelier. “Our premise at Che Figata is authenticity so we carefully select our Italian wines and, in addition to our daily menu, offer special events to introduce labels to wine lovers in the area.”
Among these events is the monthly Table Italiano, a culinary tour exploring various regions of Italy and their native food and wines. On July 26, Che Figata will feature the Emilia Romagna region, extending from the Apennine Mountains to the Po River in the north. It's known for its medieval cities, rich gastronomy and seaside resorts. The capital, Bologna, is a vibrant city with an 11th-century university and arched porticos lining the streets and squares of its medieval core. Ravenna, near the Adriatic coast, is famed for its brightly colored Byzantine mosaics. Order tickets at Eventbrite.
Earlier this year Che Figata hosted its Italian Winemakers Series where makers themselves traveled from Italy to participating in wine dinners featuring their vineyards. This fall,Che Figata will host a wine dinner featuring Marchesi Antinori, a 26-generation family winery with a history dating to 1385, during the Renaissance.
