When Don Pokorny, Executive Vice President of Commercial Credit Group Inc.—a CityGate Centre tenant—was diagnosed with ALS in August 2024, his colleagues didn't just offer their support. They organized around it.

On Saturday, June 6, that spirit took over the CityGate Centre campus in the form of the #PokornyStrong2026 2-Mile Color Walk & BBQ, raising $19,723 for ALS United Illinois as of June 9, with additional donations still coming in.
Participants walked two miles through a series of color stations located throughout CityGate Centre's 31 acres, then gathered for a BBQ on the CityGate Grille patio at 2020 Calamos Court. The day also featured a silent auction, raffles, split-the-pot and Dunks for Don, a dunk-tank challenge named for Pokorny
The fundraiser was organized by Documentation Manager Jackie Palmer of Commercial Credit Group, whose offices are at 2135 CityGate Ln. who wrote to participants following the event," "Thank you all for the support of ALS United Illinois this year. It really means a lot."
CityGate Centre is proud to be home to companies like Commercial Credit Group that exemplify the community values at the heart of its campus.
