New Che Figata Brunch, Zorba All-Day Menu
Che Figata and Zorba, both at CityGate Centre, will launch new and expanded dining in April. Che Figata will offer a new weekend brunch and Zorba is introducing a new all-day menu available 7 days a week.
Che Figata Brunch
Crafted under the leadership of Chef de Cuisine Liam Athy, Che Figata’s ala carte brunch menu draws on the influence of rustic Italian cuisine that blends itself with locally sourced midwestern ingredients. It will include an array of selections—from savory egg-centric dishes to sweet treats.
Along with quiche, frittata and other egg dishes, Che Figata puts its own spin on traditional Eggs Benedict. Its signature Che Benedict will have poached eggs served with prosciutto, arugula, citrus hollandaise and fennel pollen, all atop house made tigelle, a popular Italian bread from the Emilia-Romagna region that is like an English muffin.
Other savory offerings include a special brunch pizza, house nduja hash, Che skillet and a unique take on steak & eggs.
The sweet section of Che Figata’s brunch menu features popular Italian sweet bread, Panettone: Panettone French Toast is topped with whipped vanilla crème fraiche, local berry compote and mint, picked fresh from CityGate Centre’s Chefs Garden.
The weekend brunch menu also will offer the signature Che Bruschetta and a fig bruschetta with whipped poppyseed taleggio, macerated fresh figs, grapefruit and frisée. An array of sides will be offered as well including house bacon, local fresh fruit and Chef’s hand-made Biscuits served with a flight of three local honeys. A kids’ menu with popular favorites such as pancakes—traditional, blueberry or chocolate chip—chicken tenders, eggs and kids’ pizzas will accommodate young tastebuds.
Che Figata will introduce its new brunch menu on Easter Sunday, March 31. It then will be offered 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays beginning April 6.
Zorba All-Day Menu
Zorba, located off the lobby of Hotel Arista, has elevated its all-day menu, served 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Tuesday – Sunday and 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. Monday.
“Some of the dishes are one-of-a-kind, while others are more traditional but prepared with chef-selected ingredients to give diners an elevated experience,” Brandon Sheldon, VP of operations, CityGate Hospitality LLC.
The Zorba Burger, for example, is much like a traditional cheeseburger—topped with lettuce, heirloom tomato and onion served on a potato bun—but the cheese is clothbound cheddar, and the 8 oz. patty is wagyu beef. The Mark Burger—named for the culinary team member who crafted it—further elevates the taste experience with bacon jam and gorgonzola dolce, along with the traditional burger toppings and wagyu beef patty.
Considered by many an American staple, grits originated with the native Muscogee tribe, Zorba elevates the traditional corn-based dish with shrimp, andouille sausage, cremini mushrooms, scallions, and cheddar grits.
Other entrées include a local-recipe buttermilk fried chicken, a house-made pappardelle and a grilled chicken paillard, along with wild salmon and a 12 oz New York striploin. Zorba also serves a selection of sandwiches.
Appetizers at Zorba are a mix of signature dishes and elevated approaches to traditional items such as its Parmesan truffle fries and local cheese curds. The more adventurous may try brussels sprouts with double-smoked slab bacon, pickled red onion and honey mustard vinaigrette, or Gochujang Cauliflower, glazed with the Korean red chili pepper paste and topped with scallions and toasted sesame.
