Our CityGate campus at Rte. 59 & Ferry Rd. will be abuzz with activity for kids and their parents throughout September.
After a sold-out initial Che Kids U culinary class series in August, Che Figata, Naperville’s Italy to Table restaurant, is launching a second three-class series beginning Sept. 10. Executive Chef Austin Fausett and his team will guide future chefs, ages 6 and up, in making pasta & meatballs, chicken parmesan and Italian cookies. The weekly classes start at 5 p.m. each Thursday. Che Figata is at 2155 CityGate Ln., Naperville.
“We had such an overwhelming response to the August classes that we knew we had to offer more,” said Executive Chef Austin Fausett. “We had one family that missed registering their daughter in time, so they booked a private class for 10 kids to celebrate her birthday with friends and we’re happy to offer that as an option too.”
Pricing is $35 per class. Class size is limited to ensure social distancing. Registration and tickets are at www.chefigatakitchen.com/events. Private cooking class prices vary based on the menu and size of the group, and queries for events can be made through the website.
Chef Austin also will host a pasta-making class for adults at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26. The $65 class fee includes a two-course lunch accompanied by a glass of Prosseco.
Across campus, CityGate Grille will host a Dads & Daughters Masquerade Ball 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Sept. 16. The event will feature a 3-course prix fixe menu with entrée options, a DJ and a photo booth.
“We wanted to offer something special since so many activities are canceled for kids this year,” said CityGate Hospitality VP of Marketing & Sales Cynthia Bock. “Since guests will need to wear masks, we decided to embrace that and make masks part of the theme.”
Guests will wear their own PPE masks but will be gifted with a masquerade mask to wear at the event and take home. Tickets are $75 per couple and $35 for each additional child. Reservations and tickets are at www.citygategrille.com/events.
Fall Family Fitness is on the agenda as Arista Spa & Salon and Olympus Executive Fitness celebrate World Wellness Weekend with a Family Fun Relay, 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19. Participants will receive a credit for their pints; water is recommended during class.
These World Wellness Weekend events will serve as an opportunity to sample to two six-week Thursday evening courses: Ready, Set, Go! a weekly family fitness class at 5 p.m. weekly priced at $120 per family for the full six weeks, and a 6 p.m. weekly Pints & Poses class priced at $120 per person for the six weeks.
