When a favorite bakery in Palermo, Italy, called New Paradise opened an outpost in Chicago this year, locals to the Italy location were calling their relatives and friends in Chicago to let them know it’s a local favorite. Now, New Paradise baked goods can be found fresh in Naperville at Lavazza at CityGate Centre.
CityGate Centre's Lavazza café and gelato shop is a natural location to carry the unique Sicilian baked goods that have a strong following in Palermo, and that have quickly gained popularity locally since opening this March in Chicago’s Gladstone Park neighborhood. The Naperville café already is the only suburban location associated with Lavazza, Italy’s No. 1 coffee brand, and now is the only Illinois location outside of Gladstone Park to find the popular New Paradise baked goods.
“When I was introduced to Vito (Rubino, New Paradise owner) and his lovely bakery, I knew these items were exactly what I was looking for: A beautiful, authentic, European offering in out Italian coffee shop,” said Matthew Thomas, director of food & beverage at CityGate Centre. “We want to give our guests the kinds of approachable, convenient and uniquely delicious offerings you can’t get anywhere else in the suburbs.”
The authentic Sicilian recipes are prepared by the New Paradise team in Chicago and baked fresh daily in the Hotel Arista kitchen, along with other freshly made products served for breakfast and lunch at Lavazza.
Located at 2155 CityGate Ln., adjacent to Hotel Arista and Wine Spectator Award-winning Italian eatery and market Che Figata,, Lavazza Naperville also recently began carrying four flavors of its namesake coffeemaker’s new line of canned cold brew. The café serves breakfast daily until noon, and lunch daily starting at 11 a.m. Its hours are 6 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. Sunday. Lavazza offers dining at the café and ordering online for pickup at www.lavazzanaperville.com.
