Sold-out first-ever CheKids Culinary University class a success
On Thursday, July 30, Che Figata hosted the first class in its three-part CheKids Culinary University series. The on-site classes are limited to 10 participants ages 6 and up.
In Cooking 101, led by Chef Laura Legault, young future chefs learned about using various kitchen tools, including knife handling with specially purchased plastic safety knives, measuring, mixing techniques and more, making their own cannoli and cookie dough to take home, along with slicing fresh fruit they snacked on and took to-go.
The upcoming Aug. 6 lasagna-making class has sold out; it will be led by Chef Tom Marquez. Limited space is available for the final class of the series, making Roman-style pizza led by Executive Chef Austin Fausett. Information is at www.chefigatakitchen.com/events.
