Che Figata team takes Chefs Showdown

Loaves & Fishes Community Services hosted its second annual Chefs Showdown April 17, pitting the flavors of Spain against Italy in a cooking challenge between two northside Naperville restaurants: Meson Sabika on Aurora Ave. and Che Figata at CITYGATE. The Che Figata team led by Executive Chef Mark Grimes, and assisted by local celebrity sous chefs Dr. Laura Bokar and Joe Chura, took home the trophy.

The sold-out event raised funds for essential services for 4,700 families who are served by Loaves & Fishes each year. “We are excited to again host this unique event at our facility and are grateful to our sponsors,” said CEO & President Mike Havala.

"We are very proud of our restaurant," said Che Figata owner John P. Calamos, Sr., "but, more so, we are excited to have been part of this event that serves the community."
