“When an event like Valentine’s Day falls midweek, there is a certain upside,” said Brandon Sheldon, VP Operations for CityGate Hospitality. “The celebrations are typically spread across a few days so there are shorter waits and getting that reservation at your favorite restaurant spot might be a bit easier, and you can anchor your celebration to a weekend before or after for a wonder mid-winter escape.”

Two popular Valentine’s stay packages are “A Little Bit of Romance” which includes sparkling wine and rose petals, and “Sweet Indulgences” that includes a $100 credit toward dinner, spa or breakfast. Four Star Arista Spa & Salon offers year-round couples’ treatments, and during February is presenting its “Reignite the Romance Package”, a side-by-side 50-minute aroma sensory journey, followed by a blissful full-body massage enhanced with soothing hot stone therapy, refreshing eucalyptus foot treatment and a glass of bubbly.
For couples who want to venture out—or friends celebrating “Gal-entine’s Day”—Hotel Arista’s “Shop & Save Chicago Premium Outlet Package” or “Stay & Play at Whirly Ball”, located directly across Rte. 59 from CityGate Centre, can offer a fun-loving time.
